OUR PHILOSOPHY
At ECDS, we believe that learning should be as unique as each student. Our vertically integrated classes introduce new material based on academic readiness rather than age, ensuring every child is challenged and supported at the right level. We know that an excellent education isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach, which is why we tailor the learning experience to fit each child’s needs, abilities, and potential—putting the student at the heart of everything we do.

Student Spotlights
We’re proud to share that Ensley, a 7th-grade student in Easton Country Day School’s Research Program, has been named a Finalist for the 2026 National Invention Convention at the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan!
Ensley’s invention, W.E.T. Gardens (Water, Energy, Time), is a creative and highly practical hydroponic system designed to dramatically reduce water waste in agriculture. Her project wowed judges at the Connecticut Invention Convention with its originality and purpose-driven design—and it doesn’t stop there.
Just a few weeks before the state competition, Ensley represented ECDS at the University of Bridgeport, where she was awarded the Climate Innovation Award—the only middle schooler among high school and college-level participants!
The Invention Convention is a new initiative at ECDS, launched this year by Dr. Adriana Andrade, A Ph.D. in Neurobiology with a strong background in research and science education. She brings deep expertise and passion for empowering students through authentic inquiry-based learning.
“When students like Ensley are matched with the right course, incredible things happen,” said Dr. Andrade. “I’m thrilled by what she’s accomplished, and I already have plans to continue working with her this summer and next school year as she prepares for Nationals.”
This accomplishment also highlights the strength of ECDS’s commitment to hands-on, inquiry-driven science education that supports both high achievers and emerging innovators.
We’re incredibly proud of Ensley and the outstanding work coming out of our growing Research Program. These achievements reflect the ECDS mission: to meet each student where they are, and empower them to reach extraordinary heights.
Stay tuned for more updates—and congratulations, Ensley!
