ECDS Participates in 26 Days of Kindness

The Student Council at Easton Country Day School is excited to announce that our entire lower school will be participating in the 2018 26 Days of Kindness in honor of those who lost their lives at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. Our schools will join more than 15,000 other schools across the country to focus on creating a culture of kindness. While we focus daily on the power of kindness, The 26 Days of Kindness began on November 5 and will continue until December 14th, the 6 year anniversary of Sandy Hook. The number 26 represents the 26 educators and children who lost their lives.

During this time, the students of ECDS will focus even more on performing as many acts of kindness as possible at school, home and in the community. The student council has created a calendar that lists a specific act of kindness for each school day until December 14th. Your child will be part of a powerful and positive initiative that will lead to more kindness, unity and respect at school and beyond. To have the greatest impact on our students, we want to engage families and the community in the 26 acts of kindness. Please review the calendar often so that the entire family can take part in kindness. Additionally, some days will require an item to be brought from home to be donated to the less fortunate in our community.

Thank you in advance for helping create a culture of kindness and compassion in our school. The work we do during these 26 days will only emphasize what we strive to accomplish every day in our schools, which is to create a safe, kind and welcoming environment for all.
